Beating Hearts: Stories of Domestic Violence Description of the project

BEATING HEARTS: Stories of Domestic Violence is a photographic project inspired by true stories of domestic violence.

Break the Silence

Break the Silence is a public awareness campaign launched in 2004 to educate family and friends about recognizing domestic violence and supporting victims.

Girl Empower

The Girl EMpower Project is a poster campaign originally created to complement VSDVAA’s existing Men Of Vision Campign - a sexual violence prevention campaign targeted at young men.

The genesis of the Men of Vision campaign was rooted in our belief that until men are active participants in the work of ending sexual violence, we will never accomplish our stated mission of ending sexual assault in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Red Flag Campaign

The Red Flag Campaign is the first statewide public awareness campaign to address dating violence and promote the prevention of dating violence on Virginia’s college campuses. The Campaign is a project of the Virginia Sexual and Domestic Violence Action Alliance, and was created by Virginia college students, college personnel, and community victim advocates. The Campaign is funded by a generous grant from the Verizon Foundation.

Silent Witness

Inspired by a national public awareness project, Silent Witness Virginia seeks to raise awareness of domestic violence and create opportunities for healing through a visual memorial to lives lost.
